The Regulatory Tools for Coastal Resiliency and Lessons Learned from Incorporating in three Cape Cod Towns

June's MassFM Lunch and Learn will feature a presentation held on Thursday June 25th.

Cape Cod Cooperative Extension, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Sea Grant, Cape Cod Commission, and other partners created a series of coastal resilience bylaws and regulations to assist towns in adapting to sea level rise and coastal flooding. The Regulatory Tools for Coastal Resiliency include bylaws for zoning and wetlands/conservation, performance standards for conservation commissions, a map viewer to help with implementation, and a set of communication toolkits to assist with adoption. The Barnstable County team is now working with the Pleasant Bay Alliance to support review and potential adoption of the regulations in three Cape Cod towns.
