massFM Administrative Assistant
massFM is currently seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support the organization by organizing, implementing, and reporting on project initiatives and administrative activities for massFM. The Administrative Assistant will work closely with and report to the massFM Board of Directors and will function as an independent contractor.
The position is currently funded for an average of 16 (sixteen) hours per month at a rate of $25 (twenty-five dollars) per hour. Anticipated monthly hours may be reviewed periodically by the Board of Directors based on organizational needs and available funding. The Administrative Assistant and the Board of Directors will mutually agree upon a work schedule that allows the Administrative Assistant to make efficient use of the available hours. The schedule may be reviewed and adjusted from time to time to ensure the Administrative Assistant can effectively perform the duties described.
A performance review will be conducted six months after the start date. Continuation of the contract is contingent on the results of the review and availability of funds.
This is a remote position and a laptop computer and any other equipment necessary for the position is the responsibility of the Administrative Assistant.
Responsibilities may include:
Attend and support monthly massFM Board of Director meetings and other events as directed, including the Annual Conference in the Fall
Work closely with the massFM Board of Directors to develop a calendar of events, including but not limited to the Annual Conference and educational seminars/training sessions
Support the Communications Committee by drafting and formatting the seasonal massFM newsletters, website, and social media platforms
Assist with monitoring massFM email account
Support the Membership and Sponsorship Committee Chairs by updating and monitoring our online database, WildApricot, including managing back end of WildApricot
Coordinate with partner organizations to further collaborative efforts regarding the topic of flood mitigation and in accordance with the mission of the organization
General administrative support, as needed
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience coordinating projects and event planning
Experience with administrative tasks and procedures
Written and verbal communication skills
Comfort with reaching out to and speaking with other professionals and the general public
Able to work independently and efficiently
Proficient with or able to learn Microsoft Office, Google platform, WildApricot, and social media platforms (LinkedIn)
Interest in floodplain management
